More Information

Now developers have the ability to quickly and easily add speech recognition and speech synthesis (text-to-speech) capabilities to .NET Compact Framework 3.5 applications. New .NET Compact Framework 3.5 component libraries are included with GrammarKit, LexiconKit, ProfileKit, SpeechKit, and VoiceMarkupKit WinCE Editions that provide a common application interface for Cepstral, Microsoft, and Nuance mobile speech technologies.

Though you can use the Chant .NET Compact Framework 2 component libraries to voice-enable .NET Compact Framework 3.5 applications, the new Chant .NET Compact Framework 3.5 component libraries circumvent a COM event handling error in the .NET 3.5 Compact Framework.

To bind applications to the new libraries, add project references to the Chant.SharedWCE.DLL and Chant.productnameWCEARM4.dll assemblies found in the WinCE Developer\NETcf3\bin directory.
