Where is Microsoft Mary and Mike in XP?

The original Microsoft SAPI 5.0 and 5.1 SDK merge file containing the Microsoft Mary and Mike voices does not install on Windows XP operating systems.

Microsoft Speech Group has created a merge file that installs Microsoft Mary and Mike on XP systems.

We updated our Windows Installer installations of SAPI5.1 with this new merge file in case you are not deploying with a Windows Installer installation of your application:

• SAPI5.1, speech recognition, and text to speech (54MB), or
• SAPI5.1, speech recognition only (44MB), or
• SAPI5.1, text-to-speech only (13MB).
