Add Rules

A rule defines a phrase to recognize. It may consist of a single word or words, optional words, or a list of possible phrases depending on the complexity of what can be spoken.

A rule consists of one or more grammar elements. You must add at least one valid grammar element to a rule. The Chant Developer Workbench grammar editor provides Intelliprompt suggestions as you type your rule definition.

Rule syntax varies among grammar specifications. Refer to the section entitled Grammar Syntax Quick Reference for more information about grammar syntax.
