New components accelerate development of speech enabled mobile web applications

Los Angeles, California, December 7, 2010—Chant Inc., a leading independent software vendor of speech technology tools, announced today general availability of SpeechKit 6 Web WinCE Deployment Edition, a new version of its component software that enables applications and web pages to speak and respond to voice.

Now developers have the ability to quickly and easily add speech recognition and speech synthesis (text-to-speech) capabilities to Windows Mobile and CE web applications. SpeechKit 6 WinCE edition provides a common application interface for Cepstral, Microsoft, and Nuance WinCE speech technologies.
